8 WinCan PC connections

8.1 Ethernet connection
– no router
Follow the steps detailed below to enable control of your C550c system directly from your WinCan VX-
enabled PC, without a router.
1 Connect an Ethernet cable between the Ethernet port on the flexitrax C550c controller and an
Ethernet socket on the PC, either directly, if the PC itself has an Ethernet port, or using an adapter
such as a “USB to Ethernet” converter.
Note
:
For most set-ups, any good quality Ethernet cable is suitable, but using a crossover Ethernet
cable can help solve some connection issues, particularly for older equipment.
2 From the C550c controller Start-up screen, select
Settings > Network > Ethernet settings
3 Set the
IP assignment
to
Manual
.
4 Set the
IP address
to 192.168.137.1
Note
:
You can choose an arbitrary IP address, but it must be of this format. If you select a different IP
address, ensure the next steps follow a similar layout.
5 Set the
Subnet mask
to 255.255.255.0
6 Set the
Default gateway
to 192.168.137.2
