7.6/2 Refrigerant topping up
If refrigerant is already present in the A/C plant, the only way to inject gas is by TOPPING UP. To
carry out this phase, it is necessary, after having connected up the unit to the A/C plant, to switch
on the vehicle engine and wait a few minutes until the A/C plant is fully operational.
This is the only phase to be carried out with the engine running. All other
operations should be carried out with the engine switched off.
The operator should:
-
Connect the low-pressure tube (BLUE).
-
Open the low pressure valve LP
-
Press the SEL key and select the “CHARGE” function on the control panel. The display will
visualise the actual pre-set quantity of gas.
-
Programme the desired quantity of gas by using the
“+”
key to increase the quantity and the
“-“
to decrease it.
-
Press the OK key to start topping up.
-
From this point on, the phases that follow are those described under the previous section
(CHARGING), with the difference that, having connected up the LP line, the actual topping up
phase will be carried out using the
low instead of the high
pressure circuit.
