ELECTRIC ANCHOR WINCH
If your boat is fitted with an electric winch, be sure to:
- Keep limbs, fingers, clothing and hair clear of winch and
anchor rope/chain during operation.
- Ensure there are no swimmers or divers nearby when
dropping anchor.
- Winch must not be used as the sole means of securing the anchor to the bow
fitting. Anchors should be independently secured to prevent accidental release.
- Classification societies require that a vessel lying at anchor must have its anchor
rope/chain secured to a suitable independent strong point.
- Any independent strong point must be strong enough to hold the anchor and
rope/chain under storm conditions.
Your electric winch is operated from the helm position via an up/down toggle
switch. In case of an overload there is also a 50amp Breaker/Isolator switch which
is mounted near the battery isolator switch at the back of the boat. You are able
to test the switch by pushing the red button on the breaker. A reset switch should
pop down. If it does not, contact your dealer straight away. To reset the switch, just
push it back into place. Please refer to the Electric Winch Owner’s Manual supplied
with your boat for full operating instructions.
