Infrared (IR) Sprayer: SP-MB

The SP-MB has been developed as an IR sprayer for the SmartPresenter

 system.  If

placed within the defined range, it can control multiple IR devices by "spraying" the
area with IR signals.  This eliminates the need to attach an IR probe to each device.

Installation

The SP-MB sprayer must be plugged into the SP-1 output #1.  The SP-1 default
sprayer mode directs all IR commands out of output #1.  To enable the default
sprayer mode, power up the SP-1 while depressing button #1.  For other SP-MB
modes, refer to the SP-1

Operations Guide

(DOC. 5712) for detailed information on

configuring the SP-1 for use with the SP-MB.

NOTE:  Pulling on the SP-MB
to reposition it may damage the
suction cup.  Break suction before
repositioning.

The SP-MB sprayer must be placed within 6 feet or less of the devices being
controlled.  IR signals are outputted within a 120 degree angular cone.  Affix the
unit's suction cup to a flat, smooth surface.  If a device is not receiving IR signals,
reposition the SP-MB.  To reposition, break the suction by lifting the edge of the
suction cup with fingernail or similar object.
