General
The G
eneral
selection provides four subselections for
Password
,
Management
,
Time Settings
,
Firmware Tools
settings.
Password
To configure user name and password settings, click the
General
selection and then
click the
Password
subselection. The “Password” screen opens.
“Password” Screen
For security reasons the username and password should be changed for the switch.
Refer to the configuration guidelines that follow when setting up a new username
and password.
NOTE:
The user name and password are case sensitive.
Current user
: Displays the current username of the switch.
Old password:
Enter the old password.
New user name:
Enter a new user name.
New password:
Enter a new password.
New password again:
Re-enter the new password for confirmation of the password.
Enter all information and then press the
Save
button. A login prompt appears, asking
for the new username and password. Make sure to note the new user name and
password.
Management
To manage the Universal Plug and Play (UPnP), SNMP and Syslog remote logging
configuration settings of the switch, click the
General
selection and then click the
Management
subselection. The “Management” screen opens.
