Safety Testing Standards
The monitoring system safety tests are performed in accordance with and meet
the following standards. Also, see Reference

IEC 60601-1: 1988 + A1: 1991 + A2: 1995
•

Applicable tests for these standards are listed below. Technicians must be
familiar with the standards applicable to their respective institution and coun-
try. Test equipment and its application must comply with the applicable stan-
dards. Reference

Note:
For testing the patient applied risk current, the leakage test lead from the test
equipment must be connected to the Sensor Port through the DOC-10 pulse oximetry
cable using a male 9-pin “D” type connector with all pins shorted together.
During these tests, the monitoring system displays the following message:
“RECONNECT/REPLACE SENSOR”.
9-pin to 15-pin D-connector, pins shorted together

RS-232 cable (optional)
Stylus or very fine, rounded pointer
For monitoring screen calibration
