Operator's Manual
Remove all tape and packing materials from the INVOS™ system and accessories.
Visually inspect the INVOS™ system and accessories for signs of shipping damage. If there is
damage, report it to the shipping carrier (UPS, FedEx, or other) immediately.
Note:
Upon initial unpacking, the battery may be partially discharged. Before attempting battery operation, the
battery must be charged by connecting the INVOS™ system oximeter to AC power in either operational or
nonoperational mode. A charge time of 24 hours is required to recharge a fully depleted battery. When the
system is on, the blue
LED on the key panel illuminates to indicate the power is connected and the
battery is charging.

Serial Numbers
The INVOS™ system serial number appears on the back of the INVOS™ system monitor. For the
Monitor, the serial number format is YY-1XXXX (where the YY 2-digits stands for year). The pream-
plifier serial number appears on the back of the preamplifier. For preamplifier A, the serial number
format is YY-2XXXX. For preamplifier B, the serial number format is YY-3XXXX.
Record the serial numbers in the following table:

Installation
Place the monitor on a sturdy, flat surface or attach it to the optional mounting system (see Roll
Stand and Mounting System Instructions
).
Plug in the monitor to an AC mains power source by attaching the AC line power cord to AC input
