Please read these instructions carefully before use and retain for future reference.

WARNING

• Take care not to cover or block the ventilation openings when locating the radio as this may cause the radio to overheat.

• Keep away from water.

• Keep away from heat sources, such as radiators, ovens or open fires.

• Take care not to spill liquids or allow objects to fall onto the radio as this may cause damage.

• If the unit malfunctions, turn off, disconnect from the mains and remove the batteries.  Reconnect after a short period of time.

• Extended listening to loud music over a period of time may result in extensive and irreparable damage to hearing.  If you notice a

hearing problem, consult your doctor.

• Turn off the power switch when not in use and unplug from the mains.

• Never open the radio.

• For indoor use only.

• Do NOT insert any objects into slots, openings or holes in the appliance.

• Do NOT expose to direct sunlight.

USAGE INSTRUCTIONS

MAINS OPERATION

Ensure that plug is completely inserted into the socket on the radio.  Plug into the mains and switch on.

BATTERY  OPERATION

• Open Battery compartment by pressing in the two clips simultaneously.  Remove the cover and ensure that the correct polarity is

observed when inserting batteries.  Replace the cover and clip securely into place.

• The Retro Radio requires 6 x C batteries (not supplied).

• Remove batteries when operating on mains for an extended period to avoid leakage.

• If the sound becomes distorted or if the volume decreases, replace the batteries.

• Dispose of batteries in accordance with local authority guidelines.

• Do NOT mix types of battery or old and new batteries.

• Keep batteries away from children and pets.

OPERATING THE RADIO

• Turn the ON/OFF switch clockwise until it clicks to turn the radio on, and then adjust the volume to the desired level.

• To turn the radio off, turn the ON/OFF switch anti-clockwise until it clicks into the OFF position.

• Use this same switch to adjust the volume as and when necessary, turning it clockwise to increase volume and anti-clockwise to

decrease volume.

• To select the frequency band desired, press down the relevant button on the top of the radio.

• To tune, turn the clear dial to the desired frequency.  Please note, the MW scale is on the top half of the dial and the FM and LW scales

are on the lower half of the dial.

• The radio is fitted with an internal MW and LW antenna.  In the instance of poor reception move the radio to a position where

reception is improved.

• The radio is fitted with an external FM antenna.  When listening to the FM band extend the antenna on the back of the radio.  In the

instance of poor reception ensure the antenna is fully extended and re-direct the antenna until reception is improved.

• To adjust the tone, twist the tone knob on the top of the radio.
