C-6.1. Helical Coil Removal
Procedure
1.
Use the proper size extracting tool (Figure C-4) for the nominal thread size.
2.
Tap the extracting tool into the helical coil insert until the sharp edges of the tool dig
firmly into the helical coil insert.
3.
Turn the tool to the left and back out the helical coil until it is free.
