IP-SDI 4i Product Manual 042020

Setup Notes

DVI

Compatibility with DVI is normally supported and automatically detected. Forced DVI may be manually selected from the HDMI-DVI menu.

Audio

The volume settings do not affect digital audio in AC-3 or PCM modes. PCM Variable supports volume control on all audio outputs.  The
analog audio outputs always follow the volume control settings.  If there is no audio, make sure the volume is all the way up (and not muted).

A “motorboat” sound means the display does not support AC-3, and the mode should be changed to PCM.

SDI audio will be embedded on pair one.  If AC-3 is selected in the configuration menu, the audio will be encoded as Dolby E.

IR Control

Interference from room fluorescent lights can cause problems with IR remote operation. If this occurs, the frequency of the IR can
be changed in the HD2-RC remote. Hold Select and press “9” to set the IR frequency at 57 KHz. Hold Select and press “4” to set the
IR to the normal 38 KHz frequency.

Check the front-panel menu to see if IR Receive is turned on or off.

If there is significant IR interference, an IR-RXC Remote Sensor may be required. Cover the front-panel IR sensor to reduce
interference.

The IP-SDI 4i will respond to a universal remote with the TV type set to Sharp.

Captioning

Embedded captioning data is available on the SDI video output as EIA-708 caption data.  On-screen captioning may be enabled from the on-
screen menu, IR remote, web page control, or RS-232 commands.
