Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt ist zum Einbau in einen Computer mit Mini-PCI-Express-Steckplatz vorgesehen und stellt dort
zwei USB3.0-Ports zur Verfügung.
Dieses Produkt erfüllt die gesetzlichen, nationalen und europäischen Anforderungen. Alle enthaltenen Fir-
mennamen und Produktbezeichnungen sind Warenzeichen der jeweiligen Inhaber. Alle Rechte vorbehalten.

Einbau

Falls Sie keine Fachkenntnisse für den Einbau besitzen, so lassen Sie den Einbau von
einer Fachkraft oder einer entsprechenden Fachwerkstatt durchführen!
Durch unsachgemäßen Einbau wird sowohl die Steckkarte als auch Ihr Computer und
alle angeschlossenen Geräte beschädigt.

Lebensgefahr!
Schalten Sie den Computer, in den die Steckkarte eingebaut werden soll und alle ange-
schlossenen Geräte aus und trennen Sie alle Geräte von der Netzspannung, ziehen Sie
den Netzstecker! Das Ausschalten über den Ein-/Ausschalter genügt nicht!
• Öffnen Sie das Gehäuse Ihres Computers und nehmen Sie den Gehäusedeckel vorsichtig ab.
• Suchen Sie einen freien Mini-PCI-Express-Steckplatz und setzen Sie die Steckkarte dort ein.
Abhängig von der Bauart des Steckplatzes lässt sich die Steckkarte entweder festschrauben oder ggf.
über Clipse o.ä. befestigen.
• Verbinden Sie den Stromanschluss der Steckkarte mit einem entsprechenden Stromstecker Ihres PC-
Netzteils.

Wird dieser Anschluss nicht vorgenommen, funktionieren später die USB3.0-Ports nicht.
• Montieren Sie die beiden USB3.0-Buchsen an einer geeigneten Stelle in Ihrem PC-Gehäuse.
• Verbinden Sie den blauen USB3.0-Port der Steckkarte mit dem entsprechenden Stecker des USB3.0-
Kabels.
• Fixieren Sie die Kabel z.B. mit Kabelbindern, so dass sie nicht in einen Lüfter des Computers gelangen
können. Achten Sie speziell auf die sichere Fixierung des blauen USB3.0-Steckers in dem USB3.0-Port
der Steckkarte.
• Verschließen Sie das Gehäuse Ihres Computers.
• Verbinden Sie Computer und Monitor wieder mit der Netzspannung und schalten Sie alle Geräte ein.
• Startet Ihr Computer nicht korrekt, so schalten Sie ihn sofort aus und kontrollieren Sie sämtliche
Einstellungen und Kabelverbindungen.
Vor dem erneuten Öffnen des Computers ist dieser von der Netzspannung zu trennen, siehe
oben!
Treiber-Installation
• Nachdem Windows gestartet wird, erkennt dieses die Steckkarte automatisch als neue Hardware.
Brechen Sie die Suche nach Treibern ab.
• Legen Sie die mitgelieferte CD in das entsprechende Laufwerk Ihres Computers ein. Alternativ können die
Treiber auch auf einem anderen Computer auf einen USB-Stick kopiert werden, wenn Ihr Computer nicht
über ein CD-/DVD-Laufwerk verfügt.
• Starten Sie das Programm „Setup.exe“ im Verzeichnis „Renesas\uPD72020x\“ (ggf. Administrator-Rechte
erforderlich) und folgen Sie allen Anweisungen. Bei neueren Versionen der Treiber-CD könnte sich diese
Vorgehensweise evtl. ändern. Beachten Sie ggf. die englischsprachige Anleitung des Herstellers, die ent-
weder in Papierform oder als PDF auf der CD vorliegt.

Möglicherweise ist nach der Treiberinstallation ein Neustart von Windows erforderlich.
Entsorgung
Entsorgen Sie das Produkt am Ende seiner Lebensdauer gemäß den geltenden gesetzlichen
Bestimmungen.

Installation

If you do not have the expertise to install the device correctly, please contact an expert or
a specialist workshop and let them carry out the installation!
Incorrect installation can cause damage to the plug-in card and also to your computer
and all connected devices.
Caution, lethal hazard!
Switch off the computer in which the plug-in card is to be mounted and disconnect all
devices from the mains voltage, by unplugging their plugs from the mains socket! Just
turning off at the on/off switch is not enough!
• Open your computer’s case and carefully remove the cover.
• Find a free mini-PCI express slot and insert the plug-in card.
If there are screws or other means of securing provided, secure the plug-in card with the screws or clips.
• Connect the power supply connection on the plug-in card to a suitable plug on your PC power supply.

If this connection is not made, the USB 3.0 ports will not work.
• Install the two USB 3.0 ports in a suitable location in your PC case.
• Connect the blue USB 3.0 port on the plug-in card to the corresponding plug on the USB 3.0 cable.
• If necessary, secure all cables with cable ties, so they cannot obstruct your computer’s fan. Take special
care to

x the blue USB 3.0 plug securely in the USB 3.0 port on the plug-in card.
• Close the computer housing.
• Reconnect your computer and monitor to the mains voltage and switch on all the devices.
• If your computer does not start correctly, switch it off immediately and check all the settings and cable
connections.
Before opening the PC again, disconnect the PC from the mains voltage, see above!
Driver installation
• After Windows has started, it automatically recognises the plug-in card as new hardware. Stop the search
for the driver.
• Insert the enclosed CD in an appropriate drive on your computer. Alternatively, you can copy the driver
software from another computer to a memory stick; that is, if your computer does not have a CD/DVD
drive.
• Start the “Setup.exe” program from the directory “Renesas\uPD72020x\” (administrator rights may be
required) and follow all of the instructions. This procedure may be different on newer versions of the driver
CD. If necessary, please consult the manufacturer’s manual in English, which is available either in paper
form or as a PDF on the CD.

You may have to restart Windows after installing the driver.
Disposal
Dispose of the unserviceable product according to the relevant statutory regulations!
