IMPORTANT SAFETY
INSTRUCTIONS
• Flammable. Contains pressurised butane gas.
• Do not use near fire or flames, including
cigarettes.
• Protect from sunlight and do not expose to
temperatures over 122°F (50°C).
• Do not pierce, puncture or incinerate the butane
cartridge even after it is empty.
• If using aerosol sprays or flammable liquids such
as hairspray, allow at least 5 minutes before
igniting the curling iron to let flammable vapours
disperse.
• When igniting the curling iron, hold it away from
hair and clothing. Do not ignite while curling iron
is in the hair.
• Do not cover the curling iron with the hand while
igniting.
• Do not leave unattended while switched on.
• Careful adult supervision is required when the
appliance is used on or near children or some
disabled persons.
• Keep out of the reach of children.
• Allow the appliance to cool before storing away.
• Do not place the appliance on any heat sensitive
surfaces whilst in operation.
• Do not immerse the appliance in water or other
liquids. Do not allow to become wet.
• This appliance should only be used as described
within this instruction booklet. Please retain for
reference.
• Always inspect the appliance before use for
noticeable signs of damage, or if the appliance
has been dropped. In the event of damage
contact the Conair Service Centre (refer to the
Warranty Section for further information).

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
To insert or change the butane cartridge
• Remove the base of the curling iron handle.
• Remove the cap from the butane cartridge.
• Place the cartridge into the handle, the top
inserted first.
• Twist the cartridge clockwise and screw in place.
• Replace the handle base.
TO SwITCh ThE CURlINg IRON ON
• Push the ON switch and wait for approximately
5 seconds.
• Depress the start switch on the handle of the
curling iron several times.
• The curling iron should now begin to heat up.
• Wait for 8 to 10 minutes, the curling iron is now
ready for use.
CURlINg
For best results
• Section dry hair evenly. Pressing the automatic
curl release, place curling iron midway up the hair
section. Release automatic curl re lease to hold
hair in place. Gently slide curling iron down to hair
ends.
Wind the hair up as far as you want it curled. For
tighter, bouncier curls, roll less hair. For looser, free
flowing curls, roll more hair.
IMPORTANT:
Take care to avoid the hot surfaces
of the appliance coming into direct contact with the
skin, in particular the eyes, ears, face and neck.
• Repeat as necessary.
• Allow the hair to cool before combing through.
• After use push the OFF switch, allow the appliance
to cool and replace the protective heat shield.
AFTER CURlINg
At the end of curling, push the OFF button and replace
the protective heat shield, taking care not to allow the
hot barrel of the curling iron to come into contact with
the skin.
TO ChECk lEvEl OF BUTANE CARTRIdgE
Check the level of fuel left in the butane cartridge by
looking at the clear base of the cartridge while in a
horizontal position (see figure 1). If a cell is empty,
replace with a new Conair
®
Thermacell
®
butane
cartridge.
lIMITEd ThREE YEAR wARRANTY
Conair will repair or replace, at our option, your
appliance free of charge for 36 months from the date of
purchase if the appliance is defective in workmanship
or materials.
To obtain service under this warranty, return the
defective product to the service centre listed below
together with your sales slip and $5.50 for postage and
handling. In the absence of a receipt, the warranty period
shall be 36 months from the date of manufacture.
