Use the
▲▼ arrow keys to select
Local , Serial remote , or Ethernet . Press ENTER .
When you select Local , you are not permitted to reconfigure the modem via Serial Remote or
Ethernet , although remote monitoring is permissible. When you select Local or Serial Remote ,
the modem displays a common submenu – proceed to the next section for details.
6.2.1.12.1 CONFIG: Remote

When you select either Local or Serial remote control, use the
◄ ►
arrow keys to select
Interface, Address , or Baudrate . Then, use the
▲▼ arrow keys to edit the Interface type,
Baudrate, and each digit of the Address.
Note that:
•
Character format is not selectable and is fixed at 8-N-1.
•
For RS-485 (aka EIA-485) – The permitted address range is from 0001 to 9999 . Address
0000 is reserved for universal addressing.
•
For RS-232 (aka EIA-232) – The Address is fixed at 0000.
