SXP1224B

24-Port + 1 Expansion Slot Switch

DATA SHEET

High-Performance and Rack-Mounted

With its large backplane capacity of
8.8Gbps, SXP1224B delivers non-blocking
collision-free packet switching capability.
Its rack-mount form factor at 19-inch allows
you to install it in the standard wiring closet.

Prioritize Network Traffic

The priority queuing is designed upon IEEE
802.1p standard. The port based priority
prioritize critical network traffics. This is
very useful for the application such as video
and sound streaming.

Interconnect Switches

Switch port trunking provides bandwidth
aggregation and fail-over. In SXP1224B,
trunk groups are up to 8 and maximum
trunk port members are up to 4.

Network Expansion

One expansion slot accommodates two

optional 100Mbps / 1000Mbps copper or
fiber  uplink connectivity. It gives network
administrators the flexibility to enable long
distance and high performance network
connection.

Segment Your Network

The SXP1224B switch supports port
based  Virtual  LAN(VLAN)  which
segments your network into smaller
workgroups  to  improve  network
performance  by  greatly  reducing
network broadcast domain. Users have
the flexibility to setup the network up
to 26 VLAN groups.

Plug and Play Operation

The SXP1224B can operate out of the
box with no further configuration
needed. Its auto-negotiation feature
allows  10/100 Mbps ports to adjust
the speed to the servers Ethernet
adapter used. N-way auto negotiation
is featured in every port which allows
any type of Category 5 Ethernet cable
to be used.

Port-Based Bandwidth Control

Each port’s bandwidth is configurable
on both ingress and egress traffic
independently. Each port bandwidth
could be configured as: 128Kbps,
256Kbps, 512Kbps, 1Mbps. 2Mbps,
4Mbps or 8Mbps independently.

Compex SXP1224B is a 24-port Fast Ethernet switch with one expansion slot
that can be plugged with two 100/1000Mbps copper or fiber modules for long
distance or high performance network connection. Advanced features like port-
based Virtual LANs and port priority allows segmenting of the network into
smaller workgroups and having network traffic  prioritization  for  real-time
application servers. The bandwidth control offers network administrators the
power to decide the user bandwidth of each port on the switch. Port trunking
provides bandwidth aggregation and fail-over redundancy between the switches.
All these advanced features are configurable through SXP1224B console port.
SXP1224B is an excellent choice for today’s most demanding Ethernet-based
switching applications in small and medium enterprises.
