NATIONAL POWER CORD SET
REQUIREMENTS

Power cord set selection is determined by the following facts:

1.

The cord set must be approved for the country in which it is used.

2.

The appliance coupler (that is, the connector to the device itself, not
the wall plug) must have a configuration for mating with a CEE22/IEC
320 appliance inlet (Standard Sheet C14).

U.S. AND CANADA

1.

The cord set must be UL Listed and CSA Certified.

2.

The minimum specifications for the flexible cord are as follows:

No. 18 AWG
Type SV or SJ
3 conductor

3.

The cord set must have a rated current capacity of at least 10 amperes.

4.

The attachment plug must be an earth-grounding type with a NEMA 5-15P
(15A, 125V) or NEMA 6-15P (15A, 250V) configuration.
