Troubleshooting
This chapter provides step-by-step instructions and guidelines for where to go
for help for the most common problems encountered during the initial
Power-On Self-Test (POST). The POST procedure must run each time you
power up your server and before the server can load the operating system and
run software applications.
When the Server Does Not Start
Troubleshoot startup problems with the following steps:
1.
Verify that the server and monitor are plugged into a working outlet.
2.
Ensure that the power source is working properly.

Use the Power On/Standby LED to monitor the power status. See
Appendix D for the locations of system status LEDs.

Ensure that the Power On/Standby switch was pressed firmly.

3.
Ensure that all power supplies are working properly.

Use the power supply diagnostic LEDs to check the status of each
installed power source. See “Power Supply LEDs” in Appendix D of
this guide for LED locations and status messages.
