RTC (real-time clock)

be replaced. Battery
life is approximately
3–5 years.
Reset the date and time under
Control Panel

update the RTC date and time).
If the problem persists, replace
the RTC battery. See the
Hardware Reference Guide
for
instructions on installing a new
battery, or contact your Compaq
authorized dealer or reseller for
RTC battery replacement.
CMOS jumper may not
be properly installed.
Check for proper placement
of the CMOS jumper.

Microsoft Windows utilities.
2. Make sure your memory
module(s) are installed
properly.
3. If third party memory has
been added, test using
Compaq-only memory.
4. Verify proper memory
