Problems After Initial Boot
Once the server blade has passed POST, you may still encounter errors, such as an
inability to load the operating system. Use Table D-14 to troubleshoot server blade
installation problems that occur after the initial boot.

for more information.

Problem Possible

You cannot access the network.
Be sure that the NIC link LED on the
front of the server blade is green or
blinking green. If not, check the network
connections on the rear of the system.
You cannot
install the
operating
system.
You cannot access the PXE server.
Be sure that you are connected to the
network through NIC 1(PXE enabled by
default), and that the link LED is green
or blinking green.
The IPL boot order is incorrect.
Go into RBSU and change the IPL
device boot order. See Chapter 4, Table
4-2 for default order.
Look for error messages to determine if
a hard drive has failed.
The hard drive has failed.
Contact HP or an authorized service
provider for replacement parts and
service.
You cannot
boot an
installed
operating
system.
The Operating System image has
corrupted.
Look for error messages to determine if
the operating system image has
corrupted.
Re-install the Operating System.
