Determine whether the component will be installed from the front or rear, as shown in 

Figure 17

. Either option is possible, though connection components with pre-attached or 

spliced in cables are more easily installed from the rear.

If the component is being installed from the front, remove any patch cord manager(s) that 
would prevent the component from being slid in (refer to 

Figure 17

). For instructions on 

removing a patch cord manager, refer to 

Section 6.6.2 on Page 33

Position the component on the rails as indicated in 

Figure 18

.
