9.8. Draining the coolant
Draining the coolant
WARNING
WARNING
Danger of injuries when lifting the unit, if it falls or tips over.
Bruises. Bone fracture.
Carefully lift the unit.
Use rubber gloves.
Requirements

Unit prepared for maintenance, see "Preparing the unit for maintenance".
✓
Coolant hoses disconnected from the unit, see "Disconnecting the coolant hoses".
✓
Coolant cooled down to the ambient temperature.
Tools and material required

Collection container
–
Filling funnel
–
Absorbent cloth
–
Bonding agent
Procedure
•
Place a suitable container below the coolant drain plug to collect the coolant.
•
Dismount the coolant filler plug.
•
Lift the unit with two persons and turn it over.
•
Drain the coolant through the coolant filler opening into the container placed below.
•
Place the unit in the upright position.
•
Mount the coolant filler plug.
The coolant is now drained.
9.9. Adding coolant
NOTE
When operating the unit make sure only to use the vent plug. This plug allows the pressure equilibri-
um in the cooling system (breathing). Save the transport plug for later transportation purposes (e.g.
when sending the unit back for repair).
