Error Codes — Blood Pressure Monitor
Description
RAM failure
ROM failure
The pressure was less than 10
mmHg more than 10 seconds
after starting the pump.
The cuff pressure did not
reach the specified value
within 30 seconds (10
seconds for neonates) after
starting measurement.
The pressure dropped to 10
mmHg but the measurement
was not completed.
The air was not discharged
within 15 seconds because of
body movement.
Apply pressure again.
Abnormal oscillometric
waveform.
Impossible to measure due to
noise by arrythmia or body
movement.
Measurement took more than
90 seconds.
More than 100 pulses were
detected during measurement.
Cuff pressure rose above 325
mmHg (150 mmHg for
neonates) during measurement.
Pulse was too low to
measure.
Probable Cause
Check connection between the
unit and air hose, and cuff.
Shorting block on back of unit.
Check the cuff and hose
connector for air leaks.
Check the cuff for normal
position and patient motion.
Check body movement or
arrhythmic patient.
Check insufficient pressure
because of high blood
pressure.
Check body movement or
arrhythmic patient.
See C15
Check for cause of obstructed
air discharge, e.g., movement
of patient or bent or crimped
hose.
See C17
Check for folded patient arm
or bent hose.
Check proper attachment of
cuff.
