Troubleshooting Guide
When an error occurs during measurement, a message appears on the fourth line of the information within the
LCD window. Explanations of these errors are listed in the following table.
Check
Is battery light green (if not using A/C power)? If not, plug unit in for battery charging.
Is the power cord properly inserted into a working electrical outlet? Is it completely
plugged into A/C power outlet on rear of unit? Have a qualified service personnel verify
the "slow blow fuses."
Is the "DISPLAY" switch on the rear panel in the "ON" position? Is the power cord
properly inserted into an electrical outlet? (For measurements on battery power, check
the battery indicator on the front of the unit is illuminated green.)
Are all cuff and cuff hose fittings secure and without leaks? Are error codes displayed
on the LCD screen on the front of the unit? If so, call COLIN Technical Services at
800-829-8100. If the displayed cuff pressure is increasing rapidly but the cuff is still not
inflating, check to see if the cuff hose is crimped or bent.
Is the "PRINTER" switch on the rear of the unit in the "ON" position? Is the paper
loaded properly? Are you using COLIN brand thermal paper?
Are you using the correct size cuff and proper cuff wrapping technique? See cuff
placement instructions in this manual.
If measurements are still questionable, refer unit to Biomedical Engineering or COLIN
Technical Services for a calibration verification test.
