Stopping Gas Engine
1. Slowly bring the throttle levers to the idle
position.
2. Move the shift levers to neutral.
3. After operating at high speeds, allow a 2-3
minute engine cool-down period at low idle.
4. Turn the ignition keys to OFF position.
NOTICE: If any problems are
encountered during the outing, have
your boat inspected by your Cobalt
dealer and request any necessary
repairs before your next outing.

WARNING
Do not use the engine stop switch and
lanyard for normal stopping of the
engines. Doing so will impair your ability
to restart the engines quickly or may
create a hazardous swamping condition.
Stopping Diesel Engines
1. Slowly bring the throttle levers to the idle
position.
2. Move the shift levers to neutral.
3. Move the throttle levers forward until engine
speed is approximately 1400 RPM. Refer to
propulsion unit operator’s manual for cool down
procedure.
4. After cooling the engines, move the throttle
levers back to the idle position.
