– Pull the choke lever (14) all the way out.
– Pull the pull starter (6) out evenly as far as it will go until you hear a first ignition sound.
– Push the choke lever (14) back in.
– Pull the pull starter (6) out evenly until the motor starts.

.
– Pull the pull starte (6)r out evenly until the motor starts.
– Slightly press down on the throttle (16).
– Release the chain brake (10).
– If the motor does not engage after you pulled the starter three times, repeat the starting proce-
dure as described under
motor cold start
.
After starting the motor
– Leave the motor running at idling speed for a while.
– Slowly press down on the throttle to increase the motor speed.
The clutch will be released when the motor speed is high enough, and the sawing chain will start to
rotate.
– Make sure the chain is sufficiently lubricated (▸
Checking the chain greasing – p. 104
– Check if the chain stops rotating when you release the throttle.
Turning off the motor
– Release the throttle.
– Set ignition switch to
[0]
.
The motor switches off.
Adjust chain greasing
The factory-set lubrication quantity should be changed in exception cases (e.g. in particular high
load).
– Adjust adjustment screw (21) depending on application area of the saw.
DANGER!
Danger of injury!
After the machine has started, slightly operate the throttle once to ensure that the motor
reaches the correct idling speed and the sawing chain cannot rotate without a load.

Note:
With the choke handle pulled, pull the pull starter only until you hear a first ignition sound.
Otherwise, you may run the risk of fuel leaking into the combustion chamber, which would
prevent an ignition spark.
