– Check to make sure there are no visible
defects.
– Check to make sure all device compo-
nents are correctly mounted.
– Check to make sure the safety mecha-
nisms are functioning properly.
Starting the engine
– Position the fuel valve (9) in Posi-
tion

– Slow pull out the pull starter (13) until you
feel a resistance, then quickly and force-
fully, until the initial ignition noise can be
heard.
– Pull out the pull starter again quickly and
forcefully until the motor starts up.

Spilled fuel can set the product on
fire.
Carefully wipe up any spilled fuel up
before starting.
Start the product a minimum of nine
metres away from where you filled it.

The lifetime and the operating safety
of the motor are closely linked to the
starting time. Allow a cold motor to
warm up for a few minutes and do
not insist upon full performance
immediately.
During the first 20 hours of operation
(starting time) do not push the motor
to the limits of its performance capa-
bilities.
Note:
Pull the pull-starter max. 50 cm out
and let it run back in slowly by hand.

If use on a slope where there is a risk
of slipping, the unit must be secured
by a second person with a bar or a
rope. The second person must be
positioned above the unit and at a
safe distance from the chopping tool.
Always work at right angles to the
slope, never work up and down. Be
particularly careful when changing
direction.

Never clean the chopping tool when
the motor is running. Switch off the
motor and remove the spark plug
connector. Remove trapped objects
only with the help of another object
e. g. a wooden stick.
