FUEL TANK INSTALLATION
1.
Install the fuel tank in the vehicle.
2.
Insert the tab end of the strap into the frame bracket and place the strap in the indentions on the tank.
3.
Feed the threaded tab end down through the floorboard
. Install locknut and tighten to
40 in-lb (4.5 N·m).
4.
Connect the clear vent tube to the fuel tank vent and secure the tube with a new clamp.
5.
Connect the fuel hose to the fuel tank shut-off valve and secure the hose with a new clamp.
6.
Connect the black wire (7) and orange wire (8) to the sending unit
and slide the rubber
boot over the stud.

7.
Install the side panel on the vehicle.
See Side Panel Installation, Section 4, Page 4-18.
8.
If equipped, install the side-tube of the ROPS.
See ROPS Installation, Section 4, Page 4-16.
9.
Advance the bolt/rubber bumper to secure side of fuel tank
.
10. Add the appropriate fuel to the fuel tank.
11. Ensure the fuel shut-off valve on top of the fuel tank is in the open (ON) position
12. Connect battery and spark plug wire(s).

13. Install seat bottom.
14. With the Forward/Reverse handle in NEUTRAL, start the engine and allow it to idle. Run the engine for a few
minutes to ensure that the fuel lines are full of fuel.

DANGER
• The engine produces carbon monoxide, which is an odorless, deadly poison. Do not operate the
engine in an enclosed area without proper ventilation.
• After installing the fuel tank and adding fuel, carefully check all fuel lines and connections for leaks.
Repair leaks before the vehicle is returned to service.
15. Inspect each fuel line connection for leaks.
15.1. Check all clamps at the carburetor, fuel filters, fuel pump, and fuel tank for leaks.
15.2. Inspect each fuel line to ensure that the lines are not cracked, cut, or worn.

• If the carbon canister is damaged, replace it. Do not attempt to repair it. See the following canister
removal procedure.
