CAUTION
• Be very careful when handling the clutches. A clutch that has been dropped will not be properly
balanced. If either clutch is dropped, assume that it is damaged and replace it.
DRIVE CLUTCH REMOVAL
1.
Remove the drive belt as instructed.
See Drive Belt Removal on page 23-3.
2.
Loosen starter/generator mounting and adjusting hardware and remove starter belt.

Place chocks at the front wheels and lift the rear of the vehicle with a chain hoist or floor jack. Place jack stands
under the chassis to support the vehicle. The weight of the powertrain will allow the centerline of the drive clutch
to drop below the frame I-beam for access to the bolt securing the drive clutch.

• Lift only one end of the vehicle at a time. Use a suitable lifting device (chain hoist or hydraulic floor
jack) with 1000 lb. (454 kg) minimum lifting capacity. Do not use lifting device to hold vehicle in raised
