DRIVEN CLUTCH REMOVAL
1.
Remove the drive belt as instructed.
See Drive Belt Removal on page 25-3.
2.
Remove the bolt (1) and mounting washer (2) from the transaxle input shaft
3.
Grasp the driven clutch assembly and slide it off the shaft.
4.
Leave the key (12) in the keyway.
DRIVEN CLUTCH DISASSEMBLY
CAUTION
• The driven clutch is balanced as an assembly. Before disassembly, make match marks on the driven
clutch fixed sheave and moveable sheave so they can be reassembled in the same positions.
1.
Make match marks on the driven clutch fixed sheave and on the moveable sheave to maintain balance upon
reassembly.
2.
Using external snap ring pliers, remove the retaining ring (4)

WARNING
• Do not place fingers under the cam when removing the cam. The moveable face may spin when the
cam buttons release from the cam ramps, resulting in severe personal injury.
3.
Insert a puller plug (2) (CC P/N 1014507)
into the shaft bore and use a driven clutch
cam puller (1) (CC P/N 1014508) to remove the cam (3) from the fixed sheave.
4.
Remove the spring (6)
.
5.
Retain the key (4).
6.
Slide the moveable sheave (9) off the fixed sheave (11).
