4.3 Cleaning
4.3.1 General cleaning
• Remove dust and paper fuzz in the printing area with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner.
• Clean outer surfaces with an all-purpose cleaner.
The label media has become jammed during
printing.
– Remove the media causing the jamming.
– If the label sticks to the print head, remove and clean it.
Only certain parts are printed and the printout is
incomplete.
– Check whether label material is sticking to the print head and
remove it.
– Check the application software for errors.
– Check the ink ribbon for creases and tighten it.
When printing, part of the label is not printed
completely.
– Check the print head for dust or dirt.
– Make sure that original Phoenix Contact print media is used.
– Check that the correct labels are being used.
The positioning of the printout is incorrect. – Check whether the sensor is obstructed by paper or covered
with dust.
– Make sure that original Phoenix Contact print media is used.
– Check the settings of the media guide
A label was skipped during printing. – Check whether the label sensor is covered with dust.
– Check whether the correct labels are being used.
The printout is unclear. – Check the print head for dirt.
If necessary, clean the print head (see "Cleaning the print head"
on page 4-3).
The cutter cuts the labels crookedly. – Check whether the label material was correctly inserted.
The cutter does not cut the labels completely. – Check that the thickness of the labels does not exceed 0.2 mm
(0.008 in.).
When using the cutter, the label is not fed out or is
cut incorrectly.
– Check whether the cutter has been installed correctly.
– Check whether the paper guides are sticky.
