Appendix E: Apple Mac IP Setup

An Apple Mac can be used as the management computer for initial setup of a Clavister Next
Generation Firewall. To do this, a selected Ethernet interface on the Mac must be configured
correctly with a static IP. The setup steps for this with Mac OS X are:

1.

Go to the Apple Menu and select System Preferences.

2.

Click on Network.

3.

Select Ethernet from the left sidebar menu.

4.

Select Manually in the Configure pull down menu.
