Network Cable Tester

Please read the entire instruction manual before using the
product and then save it for future reference. We reserve the right

On/Off/Option
• Short-press the [ON/OFF/Option] button to switch the tester on.
By default, the tester will start-up in Quick Testing mode.
• When the tester is switched on, short-press the
[ON/OFF/Option] button to switch to
Option
(slow testing).
• Long-press the [ON/OFF/Option] button to switch the tester off.
Testing RJ11, RJ12 and RJ45 cable
1. Plug both ends of the cable into the appropriate jacks on the
Master and Remote units as pictured. The Master unit and
Remote unit can be separated if the cable is already installed
and the ends far apart.
2. Set the power switch to
ON
(or
Option
for slow testing).
Read the test results as follows:
Never connect the cable tester to a network which is in use
and is active, disconnect the cables before testing them.
Care and maintenance
• Clean the product by wiping it with a moist cloth. Use only
mild cleaning agents, never solvents or corrosive chemicals.
• Whenever the tester is not to be used for a long time, the
battery should be removed and the tester should be stored in
a dry, dust-free environment.
Responsible disposal
This symbol indicates that the product should not
be disposed of with general household waste. This
applies throughout the entire EU. In order to prevent
any harm to the environment or health hazards
caused by incorrect waste disposal, the product
must be handed in for recycling so that the material
can be disposed of in a responsible manner. When
recycling your product, take it to your local collection facility or
contact the place of purchase. They will ensure that the product
is disposed of in an environmentally sound manner.
Product description

• Indicates whether the cable is intact, broken or miswired.
• Indicates whether the cable is a straight-through or
crossover cable.
• Powered by a PP3, 9 V alkaline battery.
• Connections for RJ11, RJ12 and RJ45 cables.
Instructions for use
Battery
• Insert one 9 V battery.
• If the battery status indicator (3) illuminates for 5 seconds when
the tester is switched on, the battery needs to be replaced.

For RJ45
LEDs 1–8 (and G for
shielded cable) will flash
in pairs on both units
simultaneously.
If the cable is a crossover
cable, the LEDs on the
Master and Remote units
will flashing out of sync:
1–3, 2–4, 3–1 etc.
For RJ11 / RJ12
LEDs 2–5 (1–5 for
RJ12) will flash in
pairs on both units
simultaneously.
