External Power Supply
It is possible to power USB devices with high power consumption via
the PC card (adaptor not included). Outputs from the PC card ha-
ving currents of 500 mA or more can cause the connected devices
to experience problems or the computer to freeze.
If you are unsure of the power consumption, you should look in the
instruction manual accompanying the USB device to be used before
connecting it.
· USB devices with low power consumptions such as a computer
mouse, keyboard, scanner or digital camera do not normally
need more than 100mA and can be connected to the USB card
without the need for an external power supply.
· USB devices with high power consumption, such as multi-port
cards, external DVD burners, USB cameras, etc; normally having
power consumptions over 100 mA, can be connected to the USB
card if you connect an external power supply.
An adaptor is not included, so if you buy one it must conform
to the following specifications:
Output: DC 5 V / 1.5 A (to 2 USB ports)
DC adaptor plug (Internal Ø) 1.3 mm* (External Ø) 3.5 mm* (Length)
9.6 mm.
