98SE, the installation disc for Windows 98SE
is needed.

Install PCI card

Note!
When the PCI card is being installed, it is very
important that the computer is shut off.  Com-
puter components are very sensitive for static
electricity, use the antistatic bag which the prod-
uct is delivered in for storing the components,
and use a antistatic wristband at installation.

Follow these instructions if you do not have
an antistatic wristband:  Divert your antistatic
charge by holding the computer chassis right
before and during the time you handle the card.

1.  Shut off the computer and all connected

devices and pull out the plug to the com-
puter.

2.  Split the computer box and make the mot-

herboard accessible. Install the PCI card in
an open PCI port on the motherboard.

3.  Do not press the PCI card too hard while

installing since the motherboard can be
damaged.

4.  Lock the card with a screw or another type

of locking.  The PCI card shall be pushed
in equally far through the entire row when
properly installed.

Installation

Note! The following example is for Windows
XP with SP2. No extra driver is needed, install
the card and start the computer.  You can
check that the card is installed by going to:

Click on Start/Settings/Control panel/Sys-

tem/Computer hardware/device manager.”
The card is displayed as

”VIA OHCI compat-

ible.” Under “IEEE 1394 controller card”.
