Safety
No protective product can offer complete
protection, always assess the risks and take into
account maximum exposure when choosing
a protective product. The levels of protection apply
to unused products and can be affected by use and
conditions of use, such as heat, wear, moisture etc.
Damaged or worn gloves will not provide the specified
level of protection and they must be disposed of,
not repaired. Gloves shall not be worn if there is
a risk of entanglement in moving parts of machines.
The insulating ability can be lost if non-waterproof
gloves become wet.
Protection against cold, EN 511
: If the glove is
comprised of multiple material layers, the overall
performance is specified. Factors that can affect
the glove’s protection against cold are the ambient
environment (temperature, humidity, moisture, wind),
individual circumstances (person, other clothing) and
what you are doing (activity level, type of work etc.).
More information can be found in EN 511:2006,
appendix B, while conducted studies can be found in
EN 342:2014, appendix B.
Protection against mechanical risks, EN 388:
The label inside the gloves specifies the levels
of performance achieved from standard tests
and applies to unused gloves. For details, see
the pictogram explanations. If the glove is comprised
of multiple material layers, the result need not always
reflect the outermost material. There are two test
methods for cutting resistance. For materials which
affect the test equipment (the sharpness of the blade),
TDM applies. In such cases, the Coup method only
provides an indication.

for, handled etc. Check and assess the gloves
before use. Dispose of them if there are signs of

fit, comfort and pliability. For optimum protection,
only gloves of a suitable size should be worn.
A glove which is too large or too small can affect
the protection offered.

symptoms of hypersensitivity are experienced, use
of the gloves should be discontinued. For more
