RS-16 Rotary Sander
Operation and Safety
Application:
Designed to be used with the Pearl Abrasive Hex pin
Plate.
Used for light duty surface grinding. Also used for surface
preparation such as re-moving mastics, epoxy and paints. Can use with
any surface preparation accessory.
Safety Practices:
Always make sure that
the red locking pins for
the clutch are removed
from the Pearl Abrasive
Drive Plate. Locking the
clutch can cause serious
damage to the Sander.
Always wear safety
goggles, protective
clothing, and a dust mask
while sanding.
Keep the work area well
ventilated.
Sanding/finishing wood
floors can create an
explosive or combustible
environment. Do not
operate this machine
around solvents, thinners,
fuels, floor finishes, or any
other flammable materials.
Keep hands, feet, and
loose clothing away from
all moving parts on the
machine.
Disconnect the power cord
before replacing the pad or
the abrasive.
Never leave the machine
unattended while it is
connected to a power
source.
Set-up and operation
Follow the steps listed below to complete a floor sanding project safely.

Installing the pad driver:
Align the lugs with the
corresponding slots in the
pad driver and turn the pad
driver counterclockwise to
lock it in place. To remove
the pad driver, give it a quick
hard turn clockwise.

To use machine follow
these steps:
a.) Unwrap the cord and
plug it into a properly
grounded outlet. Make
sure the ON/OFF switch
is in the OFF position
when connecting power.
b.) Pull up on the handle
release compression
lever (1).
c.) Move the operator
handle (2) downward
until your arms are
almost straight.
d.) Push down on the
handle release
compression lever (1) to
lock it in place.
e.) Lift up on the operation
handle (2) until the pad
is flat against the floor.
f.) Hold one of the operator
handle grips (3) firmly.
Push the safety lock
button (4) and then
compress the switch
levers (5) to start the
motor. NOTE: When the
switch levers are
released, the machine
shuts off immediately.
