dot1x supplicant force-multicast
To force a supplicant switch to send only multicast Extensible Authentication Protocol over LAN (EAPOL)
packets whenever it receives multicast or unicast EAPOL packets, use the
dot1x supplicant force-multicast
command in global configuration mode. To return to the default setting, use the
no
form of this command.
dot1x supplicant force-multicast
no dot1x supplicant force-multicast
Syntax Description
This command has no arguments or keywords.
Command Default
The supplicant switch sends unicast EAPOL packets when it receives unicast EAPOL packets. Similarly, it
sends multicast EAPOL packets when it receives multicast EAPOL packets.

Usage Guidelines
Enable this command on the supplicant switch for Network Edge Access Topology (NEAT) to work in all
host modes.
Examples
This example shows how force a supplicant switch to send multicast EAPOL packets to the authenticator
switch:
