Uploading a Configuration File By Using RCP
Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to upload a configuration file by using RCP

2. ip rcmd remote-username username

4. Do one of the following:
• copy system:running-config rcp: [[[// username@ ] location ]/ directory ]/ filename]
• copy nvram:startup-config rcp: [[[// username@ ] location ]/ directory ]/ filename]
DETAILED STEPS
Purpose Command or Action
Enter global configuration mode on the switch. configure terminal Step 1
This step is required only if you override the default remote
username (see Steps 2 and 3).
(Optional) Specify the remote username. ip rcmd remote-username username Step 2
Return to privileged EXEC mode.

Step 3
Using RCP, copy the configuration file from a switch running
configuration or startup configuration file to a network server. Do one of the following:

• copy nvram:startup-config

[[[// username@ ] location ]/ directory ]/ filename]
This example shows how to copy the running configuration file named switch2-confg to the netadmin1
directory on the remote host with an IP address of 172.16.101.101:
