The software automatically accesses the directories that
directly contain the files. For example, if you are using
the Font Utility and need to access the directory
SPORTS
on disk B that contains sports fonts, that directory would
be referred to as
B/SPORTS
.
NOTE
The message and font directories that
you work with while in Message
Compose are known as the “current”
or “working” directories. For a
message directory to become the
current or working message
directory, it must be selected using
one of the directory change
operations described in this section.

Additionally, for Message Compose users who do not
have access to IMAGESTOR!, SCSI Express allows fast
Reads and Records of Stills, which are stored as Stills.

iNFiNiT!, MAX!> and MAXINE! systems recognize
three types of directories on any of the drives:
• Message Directories : Where pages (messages) you
have created are stored. The system contains a
default message directory,
C/INFINIT , C/MAX , or
MAXINE
on the hard disk when shipped. You can
create additional directories in which to store mes-
sages. Different types of messages (also called files)
can be stored in message directories, including Pal-
ette messages, Background messages, Tab messages
and others.
