Setting up the camera Master/Slave mode
For correct 3D calculation with a 3DPIXA dual camera, the image capture between the master
and the slave camera must be synchronized. This is carried out via the master/slave mode
(see chapter 4.3.2, p. 23). The Master/Slave mode is factory preset for the 3DPIXA dual
cameras. It is therefore not necessary to make settings in Master/Slave mode for the first
startup or standard operation.
The implementation of the Master/Slave mode differs between the 3DPIXA dual
(CP000470) and 3DPIXApro dual (CP000520) camera types.
For the 3DPIXA dual and 3DPIXApro dual camera the Master/Slave mode has to be set
up for both cameras separately. This can be done with two CST applications, which are
opened at the same time.
6.8.1
Setting the Master/Slave mode for 3DPIXA dual (CP000470)
The Master/Slave mode is factory preset for the 3DPIXA dual. It is therefore
not
necessary to make settings in Master/Slave mode for the first startup or standard
operation.
For 3DPIXA dual, starting with the article code CP00470, an external Master/Slave
synchronization cable is included in the delivery. The following description refers to the use
with this external synchronization cable.
Setting the Master/Slave mode via the CST
1. Connect the master camera with the slave camera using the Master/Slave
synchronization cable.
The connector of the synchronization cable for the master camera is marked with the label
“Master”.
2. Open the CST for the master camera and for the slave camera and disable

For adjusting the master/slave parameters, it is necessary to select the camera type
allPIXA. If the CST is used with the compatible camera type 3DPIXA dual, no changes of
the master/slave mode can be made.
3. In the
Camera Settings
select
Synchronization
in the
Image Parameter
folder.
4. In the
Set master-slave-mode
field select
Auto select by input
for the master camera
and the slave camera.
5. In both CST for the master camera and the slave camera, select the
IO
button in the
toolbar.
