4.11 Chromasens CS-API and CS-3D-API
This chapter gives a brief overview of the CS-API and 3D-API. Please use the corresponding
manual for detailed information.
Fig. 13: Overview CS-API and CS-3D-API
CS-API
For the use in an automated setup, the camera parameters can be set using the CS-API
which provides a set of functions for easy communication with the 3DPIXA camera. With
these functions the connection to the camera can be established via CameraLink or serial
RS232 connection and internal working parameters of the camera can be read and modified.
For more information see CS-API manual.
CST
User interface that makes CS-API functionalities available to the user in a comfortable way. It
also provides wizards to generate a shading reference, to update the firmware, to check live
values from the camera and access to all parameters.
CS-3D-API
The CS-3D-API is an SDK that provides you with functions to calculate 3D information in a
fast and scalable manner. This SDK can be interfaced via native C++, but also via various
wrappers for HALCON, LabVIEW and C#. Examples for different interfaces and wrappers are
included for an easy start. For more information see the CS-3D-API manual on our
homepage.
3D-Viewer
The 3D-Viewer is a GUI that uses the CS-3D-API for lab and testing environments to test the
effect of different parameters and optimize them for a specific application. It also provides
basic analysis functions like relative height measurements, pseudo-color and plane correction
visualization. Export functions into VRML and STL models are also available.
We recommend to use the CST software for setting the camera parameters during initial
setup. For getting familiar with the 3D calculation we propose to use the 3D-Viewer on the
acquired images for parameter optimization.
