CD40131 Version 1
3DPIXA
3DPIXA dual
Free running mode without external frame trigger signal and without external line trigger
signal. This mode is used to carry out white balancing and internal black (offset) referencing.

Comment
Integration time/
Line period time
master
Time in µs
Integration time / line period time has to
be set only for the master camera.
slave

Frame start
(triggered frame scan)
master
free running
No external frame trigger signal is used.
Master camera and slave camera are
capturing lines all the time. The FVAL is
generated in respect of the image height
(number of scan lines per image) set in
the master camera and slave camera.
The image heights have to be set
identically for master camera and slave
camera.
slave

Encoder / line trigger
master
disabled
No external encoder / line trigger signal
is used. Master camera and slave
camera are capturing lines all the time in
respect of the set integration time / line
period time set in the master camera.

4.9.2
3DPIXA in frame trigger and line trigger mode
For correct image acquisition and height calculation of the 3DPIXA, the camera must be
synchronized with the object movement. Therefore the external frame trigger signal and the
external line trigger signal have to be used (see chapter 4.3.2, p. 23).
Image acquisition with external frame trigger signal and external line trigger signal is
obligatory. This way the variations in transport speed (e.g. by acceleration of the object)
can be compensated.
