CHAPTER SIX: OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
FOCUSING
Focus is achieved when the text around the border of the image is clear and
legible (see image sample). The focusing distance for VeinViewer Flex is
approximately 12 in. (30 cm) for optimal focus.
CAUTION: VeinViewer Flex must be positioned as closely as
possible to a 90-degree angle, perpendicular to the surface of
the patient's anatomy to be imaged; otherwise, the projected
image may appear skewed or distorted. The practitioner's
line of sight should follow the projected imaging light as
closely as possible.
FOCUSING PROCEDURE
1. Position VeinViewer Flex so that it is perpendicular to the area to be imaged,
as shown on the following page.
2. Position VeinViewer Flex close, within a few inches of the assessment area,
and slowly move VeinViewer Flex away to the focal distance, approximately
12 in. (30 cm) from the target location.
3. Focus is achieved when the text around the border of the image is clear and
legible.
