Section 6: Firmware
6.2.2 Installation of the Firmware Upgrade Utility
1. Start the Christie LAN Update Wizard.zip self-extracting file downloaded from the Christie Support
website. By default this places the wizard installer (*.msi) file into the directory shown below.
NOTE:
To
install the upgrade wizard application on your Microsoft Windows XP SP3 system requires local
administrative rights.
2. Install the wizard file by executing the appropriate MSI installer package (example shown above is
“ Christie LAN Update Wizard.msi ”).
NOTE:
If a prior version of the projectors firmware wizard is
installed on your computer the following screen will appear. Otherwise continue to step 3 below.
a. Select Remove Christie LAN Update Wizard .
b. Click Finish to remove older firmware wizard.
3. Select Next to start installation of the Firmware Wizard and follow all the on-screen instructions.
4. For the License Agreement, select I agree .
5. Click Next .
6. Select the folder where you would like to install the firmware update utility application files (Default path
is C:\Program Files\Christie\Christie LAN Update Wizard ).
7. Click Next to initiate the installation.
8. Click Close when the installation is complete.
6.2.3 Firmware Upgrade Procedure
Examples shown in these instructions may have minor differences compared to the actual firmware update
wizard for your specific projector model.Where applicable, these instructions note important differences
between models.
NOTE:
LAN Update Utility has compatibility issue with “Symantec Endpoint Protection”. IF you can’t open
LAN Update Utility, please uninstall your system’s Symantec Endpoint Protection first.
1. Start of the firmware upgrade from either the LAN Update Wizard icon located on your Desktop or from
the Windows Start menu > Christie > Christie LAN Update Wizard .
2. Click Next
.
3. Power on the projector.
a. Connect the projector to AC power.
b. Turn the projector on.
c. Wait until the lamp(s) turn on and the source message is displayed on the bottom left of the projected
image.
d. Click Next in the update wizard.
