2.2.1.1 Concept of Response Resolution
The time domain response resolution of the analyzer refers to the capability to distinguish two adjacent responses.
For the responses of the same amplitude, it is equal to the pulse width of the impact response defined at the 50%
(6dB) amplitude point, or the rising time of the step response defined at 10% to 90% of the amplitude, as shown in
Fig. 2.2.

2.2.1.2 Factors Affecting Time Domain Response Resolution
1) Frequency span
Fig. 2.3 shows the influence of the frequency span on the response resolution.

a) The response measured within the narrow frequency span is the pulse overlapping effect of separate impact
responses.
