Spreader Section Tests
(SPR1)
The control system automatically begins to
operate parts of the upper and lower spreader
subsystems.
The panel display shows:
OUT/IN LSPREAD CTFLOOR
PS4/PS1 316/306 239/240
This display deals with the upper spreader
servo motor at low torque, moving the spreader
clamps in and out. It also activates the lower
spreader belts and the bottom floor motor (240).
The center floor motor (239) is no longer used.
(SPR2)
The control system automatically begins to
operate parts of the upper and lower spreader
subsystems.This tests the components of the
lower spread section.
The panel display shows:
SPRED CLAMP BLAST RET
PS3 216/224 233/234 PS1
This display deals with the upper spreader
servo motor at high torque, moving the spreader
clamps in and out. It also opens and closes the
spreader clamps, triggers the laydown air blast,
and causes the lower spreader belt gap rolls to
move in and out.
Sensor Activation Test (SENSOR)
Standard Testing
The panel display shows:
SENSOR ACTIVATION TEST
The control system automatically begins to
test each individual input device. As long as the
display does not change, no sensor problems
were detected.
Specific Sensor Testing
This test can also be used to test a specific
sensor by momentarily blocking it. In this case,
the display will briefly display an error message
and indicate the LED number:
SENSOR FAILED/MISALIGNED

New Photosensor Setup
In addition, the Sensor Activation Test is used
to set up a replacement sensor to either dark or
light operate.
It can also be used to set sensor sensitivity but,
as a rule, this is always left at the default factory
maximum sensitivity setting.
All photosensors come set to DO (Dark
Operate) as the factory default. To determine
the proper setting for a new sensor, refer to the
OPERATING PRINCIPLES chapter, Electrical
System section, Control System subsection to
determine whether the sensor should be DO or LO
(Light Operate). Note that only the Crossbeam
Sensors (PE45E/PE45R) are LO.
