Air Foil Adjustment
Because it helps ensure a smooth lay down of
flatwork, the air foil is critical to proper operation
of the machine.
If lay down becomes erratic, it may be because
a heavier material is being processed or it may
be that, over time, the air foil has slipped slightly
out of position.
Generally, the air foil is positioned about 1”
(25 mm) above the discharge ribbons.
CAUTION
Do not make any
adjustments to the air foil
without first consulting the
factory service department.
Required Tools
1/2”, 9/16” wrenches
Perform only when the unit is OFF
with power disconnected.
Turn power OFF at the main disconnect
switch.
Locate the air foil positioning bolt (Figure
7-83) at the rear of the unit. There is one
on each side.

Open the left and right endframe doors.
Locate the air foil pivot bolt (Figure 7-
84). Loosen the air foil pivot bolt. Be
careful just to loosen it, not remove it
completely.
Use a wrench to hold the air foil stop nut
in position (Figure 7-83, A).
With another wrench, adjust the position-
ing bolt (Figure 7-83, B) slightly up or
down as necessary.
Tighten the air foil pivot bolts.
Close the left and right endframe doors.
Start the machine and run several pieces
to test the adjustment.
