Adjusting Transfer Clamp Proximity
Sensors
In this case, it will be necessary to loosen two
locknuts to properly position the encoder.
Required Tools
1/2”, 11/16” wrenches, 1 mm shim
Perform only when the unit is OFF
with power disconnected.
Turn power OFF at the main disconnect
switch.
Locate the transfer clamp proximity sensor
to be adjusted.
Manually move the rodless air cylinder
so that the metal portion of the drive T is
located under the proximity sensor (Figure
7-63, A).
CAUTION
Adjust the position of
the proximity sensor very
carefully. If it is struck, the
sensor must be replaced.
Loosen the outer locknut (Figure 7-63. B)
and move the sensor closer to the target
surface.

Tighten the inner locknut (Figure 7-61, B)
to hold the senor in the new position.
Use the shim to check if its positioning is
within 1 mm of the target.
Slowly slide the drive T back and forth to
make sure no contact with made with the
proximity sensor.
Start the unit and process several pieces of
flatwork to make sure the proximity sensor
is working correctly.
