Reject Conveyor Ribbon Tension
Adjustment/Replacement
Tension on the reject conveyor ribbons cannot
be adjusted mechanically because each ribbon
in the set has an elasticized insert (Figure 7-54)
which makes it self-adjusting.
If these ribbons lose their proper tension and/
or begin to slip, the inserts should be replaced.
When the cotton ribbons show excessive wear,
they should also be replaced.
Required Tools
pliers
Perform only when the unit is OFF
with power disconnected.
Verify the replacement ribbons are the
correct size and of sufficient quantity for
completing the procedure. Refer to the
PARTS LIST
.
Turn power OFF at the main disconnect
switch.
WARNING
Never turn on power while
pulling the ribbons through.
This is dangerous and
unnecessary.
Rotate each ribbon by hand to locate the
connection points between the cotton rib-
bon and the elastic insert.
Remove the connecting pin and attach one
end of the new elastic insert. Repeat for
the other end.
