Troubleshooting
WARNING
Read the REPAIR chapter and make
sure that the power is disconnected
before doing any repairs.
ISSUE POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION
Inlet Conveyor Does Not Lift
up to Space the Flatwork
1. Sensor PE5 (left station)
or PE17 (right station) not
functioning properly.
Check. For more information within
this chapter, refer to Sensor Function
section.
•
2. Inlet Lift cylinder not func-
tioning properly.
Check. Refer to the
REPAIR
chapter,
Inlet Section section, Inlet Conveyor
Lift Cylinder Bracket Adjustment
procedure, or the Compressed Air
section, General Air Cylinder Adjust-
ment
procedure.
•
3. Air cylinder solenoid valve
not working.
Check. Repair/replace as necessary. •
4. Solenoid fuse on circuit
board is burned out.
Check/replace fuse. •
Flatwork Jams at Inlet Con-
veyor or Inlet Conveyor Stalls
1. Poor flatwork condition. Make sure that the flatwork is free of
knots, fold and tears.

2. Insufficient air pressure at
the main valve bank.
Refer to the PREVENTIVE MAINTE-
NANCE chapter, Weekly PM section,
Check Air Pressure Settings proce-
dure.
•
3. Inlet conveyor belt(s) slip-
ping or in poor condition.
Check/correct. Refer to the REPAIR
chapter, Inlet Section section, Inlet
Conveyor Belt Replacement proce-
dure.

4. Inlet conveyor drive motor
drive belt is slipping.
Adjust. Refer to the REPAIR chapter,
Inlet Section section, Inlet Conveyor
Drive Belt Tension Adjustment
procedure
•
5. Jamming occurs at low
speeds.
Insufficient motor torque. Inverter
needs to be adjusted. Call the factory
Service Department.
•
Machine Stops
Message Reads:
INLET TOUCH OR
CROSSBEAM
SERVICE OR CLEAR FAULT
1. One of the inlet sensors
(PT41/42-left station) or
(PT42/23-right station)
has detected mass or
the crossbeam sensor
(PE454R/E) has detected
motion.
Make sure there are no problems
and clear any jams before restarting
machine.
