MISCELLANEOUS CAB COMPONENTS
FRONT BUMPER
T h ree types of fro n t b u m pers a r e offered.
Standard bum per is painted steel; optional bum p ers
a r e chrom e finished s te e l o r solid alum inum .
B um pers a r e form ed w ith a ir scoop and step holes.
B um pers a r e attach ed to fro n t cab tiltin g pivot
assem b ly with six (6) bolts (fig. 34). To rem ove
bum pers, place a box-end w rench on bolt head and
rem ove nut and w asher at pivot assem bly . To p r e
vent damage to bum per finish, DO NOT allow bum p
e r bolts to tu rn when rem oving o r installin g. Tight
en bum per bolt nuts to 50-60 foot-pounds torque.
GRILLE AND MOULDING
The g rille assem b ly is of a c ro ss-h a tc h e d de
sign constructed of extruded alum inum s trip s .
Surrounding g rille is a form ed moulding which is
clip re ta in ed to cab fro n t panel.
GRILLE AND MOULDING REPLACEMENT
(R efer to F ig u re 35)
1. With aid of an a s s is ta n t, rem ove eight g rille
attaching bolts and then rem ove g rille assem bly
and inner moulding.
2. Using a flat-b la d ed tool such as a putty
knife, gradually p ry o u ter moulding away fro m cab
fro n t panel. Be c a re fu l not to bend m oulding o r
dam age cab paint.
3. To in sta ll, carefu lly snap o u ter moulding
and clip re ta in e rs in place. P ositio n inn er m ould
ing on g rille asse m b ly . C en ter g rille assem b ly in
cab opening and in sta ll attaching bolts.
SERVICE DOORS
Two iden tical hinge-m ounted engine se rv ic e
doors a r e located a t fron t of cab. One door allow s
a c c e s s to ra d ia to r fille r; the o th er p ro v id es a c c e ss
to engine oil dipstick and engine oil fille r tube.
Each door may be rem oved by rem oving th re e
(3) hinge attaching sc rew s (fig. 36). When in stallin g
attaching sc re w s , ce n te r door in opening and tighten
sc re w s snugly. If m agnetic catch was rem oved, be
s u re to po sitio n contact su rfa c e of m agnet 90 de
g re e s to door and tighten attaching sc re w firm ly .
STEP ASSEMBLY
A s tirru p -ty p e step assem b ly is provided on
each side of cab. Step is b ra c k e t-re ta in e d beneath
cab above w heel opening (fig. 37). To re p la c e , r e
move fo u r b o lts th at a ttac h each b ra ck et to (Step
assem b ly . Removg both b ra c k e ts and step a s s e m
bly fro m cab.

R e v e rse rem oval p ro c ed u re to in sta ll step
asse m b ly . Tighten attaching b olts to 8-12 foot
pounds torqu e.
